Goals

Welcome and assist newcomers and refugees who come to Manitoba without bias:

  • To help newcomers and refugees adjust to life in Canada.
  • To ensure newcomers and refugees are aware of and can access necessary and appropriate settlement services.
  • To develop comprehensive and enriching programs to familiarize newcomers and refugees with the skills needed for daily life in Canada.
  • To assist newcomers and refugees to find permanent accommodations.
  • To empower newcomers and refugees to contribute to the community.
  • To mobilize resources from government, like agencies and the general community, that will help newcomers and refugees settle into Canadian society.

  • To monitor government policies and attitudes to newcomers and refugees and to work cooperatively with federal, provincial, and non-government agencies which are concerned for their welfare.




Welcome Place - Goals
  • To speak to social justice issues related to newcomers and refugees and to advocate on their behalf as the need arises.
  • To forge a partnership between newcomers and refugees and the community, through shared learning and mutual understanding, to attain the harmonious unity.
