COVID-19

The Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council (MIIC/Welcome Place) office is open and we are serving clients weekdays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
We are also practicing strict social distancing guidelines as set out by the Chief Provincial Public Health Officer.

Entering the building

  • Staff, clients and visitors may only enter and exit through the front door
  • The building will be locked to control the flow of people

Number of people in the building

  • Security personnel will limit the number of clients/visitors in our Reception area (please note you may be required to line up outside the building)
  • A maximum of two clients can be in a staff office at a time

What we’re doing

  • Sanitizing the office throughout the day
  • Greeting clients and visitors at reception with gloves and masks on (gloves may be removed behind protective barriers)
  • Sanitizing all items used by clients and visitors after they leave (barrier, desk, chair, pens, doors, etc.)
  • Opening office doors to limit contact surfaces and allow for proper circulation

What clients and visitors need to do

  • Use hand sanitizer upon entering the building
  • You are required to fill out a COVID-19 pre-screening questionnaire
  • Everyone is required to wear a face mask inside the building
  • We encourage you to make an appointment with staff ahead of time

To limit contact surfaces, clients and visitors cannot use

  • The water cooler

We ask that you not attend the MIIC office if you are experiencing any sign of illness. MIIC would like to thank you for your cooperation with these measures.
